It's Engineer's Week! Yes, that's a thing. Yes, I'm an architect working in an Engineering firm and therefore know when Engineer's Week is. I know. That's why people call me an 'Archineer'.
To celebrate, there have been a series of events this week. Today was the paper airplane contest. I participated last year, and did quite well, thank you very much! I was on my way in from a meeting and caught the tail end of the competition (see what I did there?? TAIL end?? Wow, I've now adopted the engineer's dry sense of humor!)
This year, they actually set some rules to the competition. The competitors were allowed to use ONE sheet of paper. However, nobody specified a SIZE restriction on the piece of paper!
Below are the contestants. Patrick Doyle, the engineer that equally irritates me and amuses me, is the one that tested the rules with his giant paper airplane...and he won! Honestly though, he could've just set the airplane on the floor and the sheer length of it probably measured longer than some of the planes flew!
