Shut the Front Door...

...on your way out to buy me some more of this bread!  This bread is so good it needs it's own post!

I love bread.  We all know this.  I feel it should be its own food group.  Local bread company Farm to Market is my favorite bread maker, and they bring their Chocolate Cherry bread out every year for 2 weeks at Valentine's Day.  This is the first time I've tried it.  IT.  IS.  SO.  GOOD.  I tried it plain, but imagine turning it into bread pudding, or served with an infused whipped cream or fresh vanilla ice cream?  Pardon me a moment...no, I'm not going to go get another piece!  (Yes I am.)

Of course, KC has a variety of other local offerings for Valentine's Day, we've all had the Christopher Elbow chocolate experience, right?!?

I was able to locally get my hands on a bottle of what seems to be liquid gold around here.  Bouelvard Brewery and Elbow teamed up for this Chocolate Ale.  It first came out in 2011, people would chase the beer trucks and line up hours and hours before a store was open to get their hands on this limited edition release.  After the disaster of 2012 (voluntarily recalling it all and giving refunds because it wasn't up to their standards), they took 2013 off and came back this year with another try.  So far sounds like they've done it right, although I have yet to break open this bottle!  I'll wait for a time when I am able to share it with others.

This came out last year, and I was hoping it would be out again this year, but I guess it was a one-time thing. It was Shatto Milk Company's "SMOOCH" milk.  Cherry chocolate milk.  2013 marked their 10th anniversary and they came out with several limited edition flavors, and this was the first.  This is the bottle that I had saved from my taste of it.
