Day 5 of our stay in Clearwater was a bit more relaxing than the first several days...
I wouldn't mind waking up with one of these out my window every day!
So...many...Legos...!
His Lego house. It took him approximately 5 minutes and 34 seconds to put this together.
Well, hello, my pretty. Here's MY new toy!
Last year I brought the turkey hat, this year I brought the PIE hat!
They say you are what you eat.....
Happy Hour this evening will be held poolside.
Our favorite! We had to wait 5 days to finally eat here!
Aiden ordered crab legs...
This is the look of pure elation at the success of cracking a crab leg all by yourself.
We sat in the open-air area of the restaurant. And this guy was eyeing my grouper sandwich the whole time. Get your own, buddy.
Day 6 was almost complete carbon copy of Day 5:
Started out with breakfast at Lenny's!
Aiden trying on his new waders again.
Happy Hour: Sangria in my new Sangria Tervis! (Kris knows me well)
Back to Frenchy's for Grouper Fajita night! We also tried Clam chowder, Crab chowder, and Seafood Pot Pie. Get in my mouth.
Kris and Mike took us to see a festive house a couple of streets over from them. I guess the Griswolds retired to Florida?
And, on to Day 7, our final full day:
Back to Lenny's for breakfast. Todays' special was Lobster Benedict. Yes please.
The balloon guy was there that day, and Aiden requested that he make a Minion hat for him.
That night we ate at the original Hooters. There was even a little bit of home for me in there!
Mahi tacos for me, wings for the kid, curly fries all around.
Watching some TV on our final night...Mav looooooves his boy!
I caught Aiden flossing his teeth before bed! He was none too happy about that!
So. To recap our week:
Day 8: Time to head home. :(
I'd rather he be waving 'hello' instead of 'good-bye'!
That moment when you realize that you will ONCE AGAIN miss your connecting flight!
I couldn't complain too much about missing my flight and having to be in Dallas longer than I wanted to be. This couple (and their pup Chloe) was supposed to be on a 12:15pm flight from Dallas to El-Paso. This photo was taken about 5pm, and right before the announcement was made that there flight would AGAIN be delayed, this time because of a chip on one of the plane's blades, making it not able to fly. This was also right before my gate was changed. Again.
Top left was leaving Tampa on our one and only dreary day. Bottom right was finally leaving Dallas.
You can't really tell in this photo, but this was a neighborhood of houses that we flew over coming into KC that all had Christmas lights on their houses. It was a pretty neat thing to see.
Everyone was happy to be home and happy that mama was home.
See you next year, Clearwater!
