Adventures in Gardening - Part III. Gettin' Dirty!

It's time to plant! We thought we'd get a head-start since we had to wait to put the boxes in, so we did the 'seed-in-the-peat-pod' thing. That hasn't worked out so great. It's supposed to act like a mini-greenhouse and accelerate the beginning stages of growth, but we didn't see any results. So we went out and got some already started and planted those instead. Maybe next year we can start from seed...it's a learning year!

Here is the first of two truck loads of dirt Jared had to go pick up.

Somehow that truck ended up in my backyard.

Time to plant!
Here are the finished boxes with everything planted. We have a couple of types of lettuce, some snap peas, green beans, tomatoes, broccoli, brussel sprouts...

My pretty gloves! Sign of hard work.

We also decided to try a strawberry pot this year.

And since tomatoes take up so much room, we are trying the Topsy Turvy.

We have our own inspection team here. This is inspector Tiny checking out the work.

It's Man VS......Sprinkler Nozzle. Luckily Man won. This time.
