Holidays by Design

Last night was the DIFFA Holidays by Design event that I had made the ornaments last weekend for.  It was held at the new Roasterie Factory/Coffeeshop.  They turn the factory portion into an event space called the Bean Hanger.  The whole building is very cool.

There was a live Jazz Band playing in front of the factory equipment.

Hello, open bar!

Here were my ornaments at the beginning of the evening...with a bid already!  And my name on one of the lists of designers.

There were many, many wreaths there, both traditional and non-traditional.  There was one made of bobby pins, one of copper, one of cabinet hardware, one made entirely of real peppermint candies...just to name a few!

The food was FANTASTIC.  AND...they had a S'MORES BAR!!  Well, now you're talking my language!

This pendant was made out of candy wrappers.  It looked super cool and is now on my 'to-do' list.

This wreath is made out of melted candle wax.

This one was very pretty...poofy and sparkly.

This wreath was made entirely out of real sugar cookies.  I wouldn't have been able to take this one or the peppermint candy wreath home.  I'd end up with a bunch of bulldogs and cats licking them.

Here's my group of girls that I went with!  Laura, Sarah, Gin, and Lanee.  Missing from the photo was Michelle.  After I told her about the s'mores bar, she made a beeline towards it!

This photo is a little fuzzy, but I was trying to be discreet when taking it.  The woman in the black dress is 'guarding' her bid on my ornaments to make sure nobody put a bid in last minute and beat her out!  Once time was called I went over and introduced myself and thanked her for bidding.  I was happy with the final bid, it was over what my goal was.

This was my little purchase for the night.  It's an actual light bulb from the lights that they hang down at the plaza during the holidays, and it's been turned into an ornament.  I just thought it would be a fun little thing to have.

We had such a fun time, I'll definitely do it again next year!  And, now I have many ideas swirling around in my head!
