Miami County Farm Tour 2011

Spring in Kansas means farm visits! Last weekend we went on the Miami County Farm Tour and stopped by a handful of local farms.

These are Emu babies...so cute! ...until...

...they grow up into this!

We stopped for a picnic lunch...Cheers!

I'm a strong believer that cheese should be it's own food group!

Jared is very excited about his smoked salmon dip.

This was a tiny winery out in the middle of nowhere. The wines were pretty not good, but it was a nice place to visit regarless!

Apparently there is a type of kiwi that can be grown in Kansas!

This little baby goat thought he was the boss!

This guy's ready for a party!

This lady's chicken coop was made entirely of donated repurposed materials.

This re-habbed goose became the family pet. When the boy put him down and picked up a baby chick, he started honking at him to be picked up again!

Bashful goat.

Hello, goat! We drank goat's milk for the first time...it was pretty tasty!
