I've been excited for the Plaza lights to be turned on this season, so I could try my hand at photographing them. Here is my first attempt of Part I of II. Part I is shot from the pedestrian level, basically it was me running around the streets of the Plaza trying to find the best buildings to shoot when they were lit up. Part II will be shot from the bird's eye view, I will park myself on top of one of the buildings and get an overall view of the whole Plaza lit up. I can't do them both in the same shoot, because I am trying to hit just the perfect time right after the sun goes down, so I can get that pretty blue color for the sky. Once that window of time hits, I have only have about 10 minutes to shoot off as many as I can! Hopefully I'll head back tomorrow night to shoot Part II. In some of my Part I shots, the lights are slightly blurry, I think that was the product of being VERY windy tonight combined with my cheap lightweight tripod. So, I may go back a third time and try again with the pedestrian shots. But unfortunately each day that I go out, it gets colder and colder!
